Why a screened drive cable.
Run a VFD motor on ordinary unscreened power cable and the drive's fast switching radiates electrical noise — tripping sensors, corrupting data and pitting motor bearings. A symmetrical, screened VFD cable contains it. Here's how TOPDRIVE compares to the alternatives.

Rated 0.6/1 kV to IEC 60502-1 / IEC 60092-353. Specify TOPDRIVE for the run between the variable-frequency drive and the motor — the noisiest cable on the site.
Why symmetrical & screened
A variable-frequency drive switches thousands of times a second. On unscreened cable that energy escapes as electromagnetic interference — nuisance trips, corrupted instrument signals and circulating currents that pit motor bearings and shorten winding life.
TOPDRIVE VFD ROZ1-K is engineered to contain it. An overlapping aluminium-polyester screen with 100% coverage plus a tinned-copper drain wire gives the noise a low-impedance path back to the drive, while the symmetrical 3+3 earth (three grounds in the interstices) balances the impedance so common-mode currents cancel. Together they suppress leakage current and damp the reflected-wave spikes that destroy motors.
Safe and durable, too. XLPE insulation under a polyolefin LSZH sheath means low smoke and zero halogen in a fire, with chemical, oil and UV resistance for long fixed installs on the plant floor.
100% made in Spain. Stocked in Australia.

RV-K is the industrial all-rounder. For two specific jobs, step across to its siblings in the Power Flex cable range.
The standard unscreened XLPE power cable — 0.6/1 kV, 90 °C, Class 5 — for sub-mains, feeders and cable trays where no EMC screen is needed.
The low-smoke zero-halogen power cable — XLPE, CPR-classified (B2ca / Cca) for public buildings, data centres, hospitals, schools and transport.

Power Flex TOPDRIVE® VFD ROZ1-K
-
A flexible, screened, low-smoke zero-halogen power cable (0.6/1 kV) designed for the run between a variable-frequency drive (VFD) and its motor. XLPE-insulated with a 100% aluminium-polyester screen and a symmetrical 3+3 earth, it limits the electromagnetic interference that drives generate.
-
A VFD switches voltage thousands of times a second. On ordinary unscreened cable that radiates EMI — nuisance trips, corrupted instrument signals and circulating currents that pit motor bearings and shorten winding life. A screened, symmetrical VFD cable contains the noise and protects the motor.
-
Three ground conductors balanced in the interstices around the phases give common-mode currents a balanced, low-impedance return path so they cancel — cutting shaft voltages and bearing damage. A 4G configuration (single full-size earth) is available up to 4 mm².
-
An overlapping aluminium-polyester tape gives 100% coverage, with a tinned-copper drain wire for a reliable termination. Earth the screen 360° at both ends (drive and motor) for best EMC performance.
-
Yes. LSZH to IEC 60754-1, low corrosive gases to 60754-2, light transmittance >80% (61034). Flame and fire retardant to 60332-1 / 60332-3 and EN 50399, with a CPR class of Cca-s1a,d1,a1.
-
0.6/1 kV with XLPE insulation, a 90 °C maximum conductor temperature and 250 °C short-circuit rating (max 5 s). Maximum ambient 60 °C; minimum service ‒40 °C (fixed, protected).
-
Open air, buried or in conduit, with a minimum bending radius of 10× the cable diameter — larger than standard power cable, so plan the routing. UV resistant (EN 50618) with AD5 (jets) water resistance. It also carries ABS, DNV, Lloyd's and BV marine approvals.
-
Available in a range of cross-sections and 3+3 / 4G configurations, supplied on drums or cut to length. Talk to a PAC for the right size and current rating for your drive and motor.
Quiet the drive. Save the motor.
Specify TOPDRIVE for every variable-frequency-drive run — 100% screened, symmetrical 3+3 earth, low-smoke zero-halogen, stocked, cut to length and supported locally through TROPAC.
